Watch Stephen King read from The Shining sequel

Dr. Sleep, Stephen King’s long-awaited sequel to his classic horror novel The Shining, is a reality at last. The prolific author premiered a passage from the story during a George Mason University Awards ceremony, which has been posted to YouTube.

Speaking before reading the passage, King explained that he always wondered what happened to Danny Torrance in the 30 years after the events at the Overlook Hotel. In the book, which King is still writing, we learn that Danny is now a doctor working at a hospice, easing the minds of dying patients – until some vampires belonging to The Tribe arrive. And they’re not your standard bloodsuckers…
