BAFTA nominations for Who and Humans

Humans 2Doctor Who and Humans are among those representing genre television in this year’s BAFTA nominations, announced on March 30th.

E4’s Humans is up for Best Drama, opposite Wolf Hall (which is nominated in most categories!), The Last Panthers and No Offence. Michelle Gomez’s performance as Missy in Doctor Who is listed in the Best Supporting Actress category – her competition is Chanel Cresswell, Eleanor Worthington and Lesley Manville.

In the craft categories, announced on March 23rd, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell was nominated in the Best Costume Design as well as Best Makeup and Hair Design and Best Production Design, Humans received nods for Best Digital Creativity and Editing, Ben and Nick Foster wereamong those nominated for Best Music for Thunderbirds are Go,  and The Frankenstein Chronicles was put up for Best Photography and Lighting (Fiction). Doctor Who and Jonathan Strange were two of the four nominees for Best Special, Visual & Graphic Effects (against The Last Kingdom and Fungus the Bogeyman).

The craft awards are given on April 24th; the main awards are on May 8th.
