Along with confirmation of the title for the latest Spider-Man movie, Sony chairman Tom Rothman also revealed that at least one of the Avengers will be making their way across to the Sony lot for the 2017 movie.
Speaking at CinemaCon, Rothman noted that the official title for the film will be Spider-Man: Homecoming, which has a high school resonance for American audiences, but which is also because “Peter [Parker] is trying to find his way home”. The movie stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker with Marisa Tomei as Aunt May and Zendaya as Michelle.
Rothman also showed a clip which featured Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark telling Peter he’s applied for a grant, and he’s been successful – which comes as something of a surprise to Parker!
Spider-Man: Homecoming opens on July 7, 2017.
