King’s Mr Mercedes heads to AT&T’s Audience network

MrMERCEDES_hbk-animatedThe TV version of Mr Mercedes, the first novel in Stephen King’s Bill Hodges trilogy, is heading to AT&T’s Audience network for a 2018 release.

The Hollywood Reporter says that a 10-episode order has been given for the adaptation, which will star Brendan Gleeson as retired detective Hodges and Anton Yelchin as Brady Hartsfield, the killer responsible for mowing his way through a group of jobseekers in a stolen Mercedes. The book was first published in 2014, and has been followed by two sequels (the third book End of Watch is out next week, and it’s no spoiler to say the series goes out on a high).

David E. Kelley will produce and write the first episode; Under the Dome’s Jack Bender will executive produce and direct.
