Comic-Con saw a wealth of information on the CW’s DC adventures, with sizzle reels for the shows that are already in production.
Arrow kicked off with a video that gave the first look at Team Arrow 2.0 recruits Evelyn Sharp (Madison McLaughlin) and Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez) and closes with the shocking revelation of its Season 5 “Big Bad”.
The Flash will face Dr Alchemy (voiced by Tobin Bel) in season 3, and the sizzle reel shed some light on how Barry’s decision to travel back in time and save his mother would open the door to the iconic Flashpoint storyline.
On Legends of Tomorrow, Obsidian, Stargirl and Dr. Mid-Nite will appear during season 2, while the team will face the Legion of Doom Super-Villains, aka Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman), Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), the Reverse-Flash (Matt Letscher) and Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller). “For season two of Legends, we decided that the perfect antagonist for TV’s first-ever team of Super Heroes would be TV’s first-ever team of Super-Villains, recruited from the ranks of Arrow and The Flash’s deadliest adversaries,” Marc Guggenheim explained. “Being huge fans of the Challenge of the Superfriends, we’ve come to call this group our ‘Legion of Doom.’”
Supergirl hasn’t entered production for season 2 yet but was represented at the convention by Melissa Benoist, David Harewood, Chyler Leigh, Mechad Brooks and Jeremy Jordan and executive producer Sarah Schechter as well as incoming Superman, Tyler Hoechlin. “Big things are happening,” Schechter explained. “Big things have to happen to get Superman and Supergirl together… Clark has a very different experience of what it means to have superpowers on Earth. There’s some real head-butting and philosophical approaches that are different. We’ll get into all that.”
