Lost Girl: Review: Season 1 Ep 10

Bo gets some unexpected help investigating a suicide case, while Trick needs Kensi’s help.

A nice combination of drama and comedy in this week’s instalment, with Bo learning some more about the succubus life from her new friend Saskia, and Trick definitely benefitting from Kensi’s less legitimate knowledge.

The series has a neat way of imparting its world-building without the need for info dumps – there’s a lot of “show, don’t tell” involved, such as Saskia’s demonstration of a succubus’s ability to return life to someone as well as drain it. We also learn more about Trick through casually dropped lines, rather than a major episode focusing on him as whatever supreme sort of leader that is slowly being revealed.

The case of the week means that Bo has to deal with Lauren, and our resident succubus gets a chance to deliver some very arch lines – it’s clear that it’s going to be a long time before Lauren is forgiven for seducing Bo into bed on the orders of the Ash. The relationship with Dylan is in one of its peaks, but no doubt that’ll change!

Verdict: Not one of the strongest episodes, but still entertaining. 6/10
